Connect Stripe to AI — revenue context via Zylx MCP

Connecting Stripe to Zylx Studio uses a read-only API key that you create in your Stripe dashboard; a restricted key is recommended so Stripe enforces read-only on its side too. Zylx reads charges, subscriptions and customer counts, and derives a revenue summary: gross, net and refund totals, MRR and ARR, active and canceled subscriptions, a churn proxy, average order value, and payment success rate. Authorized AI clients — Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP-compatible assistant — can then reason about your real revenue through Zylx's MCP server.

There are no Stripe write actions in Zylx. Zylx cannot create charges, issue refunds, change subscriptions, or move money — the connector is read-only by design, and the restricted key you supply enforces that on Stripe's side too.

How the connection is wired

StripeZylx StudioBusiness Brain (revenue context)MCPAuthorized AI Client

Stripe is a business data source, not a payment rail for AI. Zylx reads with a restricted key you control; the AI clients you authorize see derived revenue context, never your Stripe credentials.

What Zylx reads

With a restricted read-only key, Zylx reads:

  • Charges, payment volume, and payment success rate
  • Subscriptions, MRR and ARR
  • Customer counts, churn proxy, and average order value
  • Refund totals
  • Whether the account is in live or test mode

How fresh is the data?

Stripe is queried live each time an assistant asks, over a rolling window that defaults to the last 30 days, and the answer is stamped with when it was observed. Figures reflect that window rather than all-time totals.

Equally important, Zylx does not read:

  • Disputes and chargebacks
  • Payouts and balances
  • Invoices and payment intents
  • Your Stripe product and price catalogue

What enters the Business Brain

Stripe gives the Business Brain its money truth: real revenue, growth trend, refund pressure, and customer economics — fused with Shopify orders and analytics so an assistant can connect traffic to dollars.

The Business Brain is the persistent, structured context layer that Zylx Studio builds from every connection and keeps current automatically.

What AI assistants can do

Through Zylx's MCP server, an authorized assistant can:

Read & analyze

  • Summarize revenue, MRR/ARR, and growth trends
  • Compare revenue against traffic and search performance
  • Look at refund totals, churn proxy, and payment success rate
  • Ground business decisions in actual payment data

Read-only, full stop. Zylx has no Stripe write actions and cannot move money, refund, or modify subscriptions — by architecture, not just policy. Access happens over MCP — an authorized, workspace-scoped connection for Claude, ChatGPT, and other compatible clients. Setup differs by product: connect Claude or connect ChatGPT.

You stay in control

You create the restricted key in Stripe and can revoke it there at any time. Access is workspace-scoped; AI clients see derived context with provenance, not raw credentials.

What disconnecting does

Remove the Stripe connection in Zylx (or revoke the key in Stripe) and revenue context stops flowing into the Brain immediately.

Stripe + AI FAQ

Can Claude access my Stripe revenue data?

Yes — indirectly and safely. Connect Stripe to Zylx Studio with a restricted read-only key, then authorize Claude via Zylx's MCP server. Claude sees revenue context from your Business Brain; it never touches Stripe directly and cannot move money.

Is this a Stripe MCP server?

Zylx's MCP server exposes your workspace's Business Brain, which includes Stripe-derived revenue context when Stripe is connected. It is business-context MCP — distinct from Stripe's own developer-focused MCP tooling for building payment integrations.

Can Zylx issue refunds or charges?

No. The Stripe connector is read-only by design, and the restricted key you supply enforces read-only access on Stripe's side as well.

What plan includes this?

Stripe connects as a Brain data source; MCP access for external AI clients starts on Pro ($49 CAD/month).
