Connect Google Ads to AI — with approvals on every action

Connecting Google Ads to Zylx uses the same single Zylx-owned Google sign-in that covers Search Console and GA4 — no client IDs, incremental scopes. Zylx reads your campaigns, keywords, search terms, budgets, and conversions into your Business Brain, so AI assistants can analyze ad performance from real data.

Google Ads is the one Google connection where write actions exist: 8 approval-gated actions, including pause/resume, budget changes, negative keywords, keyword additions, responsive search ads, and campaign creation. New campaigns are always created paused, and anything that spends money requires its own separate approval.

How the connection is wired

Google AdsZylx StudioBusiness Brain + ToolsMCPAuthorized AI Client

Your ad account is never wired directly to an AI model. Zylx holds the grant, maintains the campaign context and the action layer, and serves both over MCP — with every write held behind human approval.

What Zylx reads

With the Google grant in place, Zylx reads:

  • Campaigns
  • Keywords
  • Search terms
  • Budgets
  • Conversions

How fresh is the data?

Google Ads is queried when an assistant asks, and refreshed in the background roughly twice an hour with a fuller rebuild daily. Google's own conversion attribution settles over days, so recent conversion figures can still move after Zylx reads them.

Zylx does not implement, and cannot perform:

  • Money movement — billing, payment methods, or account funding
  • Destructive removals of campaigns, ad groups, ads or criteria
  • Anything at all until the owner has explicitly enabled execution

What enters the Business Brain

Paid performance becomes part of the Business Brain: what you're spending, which keywords and search terms drive results, and how conversions track against budget — alongside organic search and analytics context, so AI assistants see paid and organic in one picture.

The Business Brain is the persistent, structured context layer that Zylx Studio builds from every connection and keeps current automatically.

What AI assistants can do

An authorized AI client can analyze your account, and propose a strictly limited set of changes:

Read & analyze

  • Analyze campaign performance, keywords, and search terms from real account data
  • Compare spend and conversions against organic search and analytics context
  • Surface wasted spend and negative-keyword candidates for your review

Propose (never apply)

  • Pause or resume campaigns
  • Budget changes
  • Negative keywords
  • Keyword additions
  • Responsive search ads
  • Campaign creation — always created paused

8 approval-gated actions exist. Every one is a proposal that waits for human approval — and new campaigns are always created paused, with spend requiring its own separate approval before anything goes live. Before any of them can execute at all, the workspace owner must explicitly enable execution: Zylx probes the stored credentials to confirm they are write-capable, records the owner's authorization, and requires a real, reversible round-trip test through the production path. Until that is done, Google Ads actions can be proposed but not executed. Every execution is verified by re-reading the object from Google Ads — provider acceptance alone is never reported as verified. Access happens over MCP — an authorized, workspace-scoped connection for Claude, ChatGPT, and other compatible clients. Setup differs by product: connect Claude or connect ChatGPT.

You stay in control

The safety model is deliberate: AI can never spend your money on its own. Every write is a proposal in an approval queue. New campaigns are created paused no matter who proposed them, and enabling spend is a separate human approval on top of approving the campaign itself.

What disconnecting does

Disconnecting revokes the Google grant. Ads context stops flowing into the Business Brain, and no Ads actions remain available to any AI client.

Google Ads + AI FAQ

Can AI manage my Google Ads through Zylx?

AI can analyze your account from real data and propose changes — pause/resume, budgets, negative keywords, keywords, responsive search ads, and new campaigns. Every proposal waits in an approval queue for a human decision. Nothing is applied automatically.

Can Claude change my ad spend?

No — not on its own. Budget changes are approval-gated proposals, and spend carries its own separate approval. New campaigns are always created paused, so nothing spends until a human explicitly enables it.

What happens when AI creates a campaign?

The campaign is created paused — always. It sits in your account spending nothing until you review it and separately approve enabling spend.

Is connecting Google Ads to AI safe?

The connection uses a scoped, revocable Google grant. Reads feed analysis; all 8 write actions are approval-gated, campaigns are born paused, and spend requires separate approval. Disconnecting revokes everything.

Put AI on your ad account — safely
